In cases like this where the first one or two centimeters of the edge banding have no glue, the issue is basically caused by the guide plate being positioned incorrectly.

This position must be aligned with the glue roller on the same straight line. If they are offset — for example, if the guide plate is shifted forward, causing the board to be too far away from the glue roller — it will result in uneven glue application. If the guide plate is too far back, meaning it’s behind the glue roller, the board will come into direct contact with the glue roller, which will cause corner chipping (corner loss).

When we make adjustments, we need to adjust this side screw — a 10 mm hex head bolt. If there’s no glue on the front edge, it must be due to the guide plate. We need to loosen the set screw a little on it.

First loosen the side hex socket screw a little, then back off the outer hex bolt slightly.

Now let’s take a look. The glue is very even.
